What is a polyaspartic coating?
Polyaspartic is a fast-curing resin coating — a refined cousin of polyurea — applied over properly prepared concrete. Compared to traditional epoxy, it stays flexible, cures quickly across a wide temperature range, and resists UV yellowing thanks to its aliphatic chemistry. On a garage floor it's typically used as a tough, clear topcoat over a base coat and a broadcast of color flake, creating a sealed, slip-resistant surface that wipes clean and stands up to hot tires, oil, and ice-melt salt.
Why it suits Idaho garages
- Cold-cure. Goes down in temperatures that stop epoxy, so winter installs are realistic.
- Flexible. Moves with the slab through freeze-thaw instead of cracking at the bond.
- UV-stable. Holds its color under Idaho's high-altitude sun.

Is it really a 1-day install?
Often, yes. A typical polyaspartic flake floor is diamond-ground and repaired in the morning, base-coated and flaked by midday, and top-coated in the afternoon — walkable that evening and ready for vehicles within a day or two. "One day" depends on the slab's size and condition and the weather, so we confirm the realistic timeline before we start rather than promising a finish time we can't control. We never rush prep to hit a clock; the grind and repair are what make the floor last.
